, Damn, Did Gerald Romine Really Say That To A Loss Mitigation Supervisor?

This is Reggie Brooks and I’ll be interviewing Gerald Romine for the Webinar on Tuesday January 15 (see time zones below. To get things warmed up I wanted to share a true story with you about Gerald Romine.

I simply could not believe itThe fax Gerald sent to the lender was absolutely brutal! Gerald is known for his “Love me, Hate me, Just Don’t Tolerate Me Approach” and this fax left me saying… Damn… that’s some harsh reality you served to the lender! 

In big bold print the fax was addressed to the loss mitigator: 

“Tye Brown, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?
Survey Says - NO!”

Ouch. That will get a loss mitigators attention.

When Gerald shared the rest of the fax I was in stitches and my stomach was killing me from laughing so hard… I could not believe Gerald had the nerve to send that fax. Talk about some big cahones!

And what Gerald did in the fax was absolutely brilliant. Every word had purpose and I assure you the lender has never had a math lesson like this - and you can bet your last dollar they do not want to explain this fax to shareholders either. 

But then… just when I though it couldn’t get any better you should have seen the PS that would enrage any bean counter! This one page fax is a pure marketing piece of genius.

The funny thing is if you know Gerald personally you know him to be one of the nicest guys you can meet and he’s even written a book on inspiration. So I asked Gerald to explain the brutality of the fax… then it all made sense because it is critical to know the how, why and when to send such a fax. 

Did the lender respond? Well, let’s just say this fax touched a nerve and Gerald promised to share the story of how the loss mitigator called him and the inside information the loss mitigator secretly divulged. Something unheard of before this fax!
