Hi, Visitor,

I've just been looking at the statistics on my email system, and I'm seeing that you and others have been opening emails from me that I sent literally months ago.

Your inbox must be huge!

So first of all, I wanted to say thank you for thinking my email so valuable that, before you hit the delete button, you actually opened and read what I sent you.

Secondly, I wanted to say, you should have a life that doesn't revolve around your inbox! Easy for me to say, right???

Well, I'm in the same boat.  And so, at my own peril (since I am here in your inbox), I wanted to share some ways that I've discovered to manage the copious amount of information coming your way.  Some of these will be painful to you. Let's start small:

  1. Sort by sender.  When sorting by sender, you can scroll down, find the senders that really are not critical to your life, and delete all the messages from them at once.
  2. Unsubscribe. I know!  You're one of my subscribers!  But I still urge you: if you're not receiving value from a subscription, unsubscribe! Even mine!
  3. Move mail X days (months, years) old to a folder on your computer called "Old Mail." Not gone, right?  Just not in your inbox.  After you don't access that folder for a year, you'll feel fine about just deleting it. (I'd encourage sooner.)
  4. Turn on auto archive. Everything more than one month old goes into archive.  Or two months.  You decide.
  5. Important reading? In this market, if it's more than two months old, it's ancient history.  Toss it.  Or put it in a folder called "Reading." You also will never look at this folder, and can delete it in one year.
  6. Delete emails X days old or more.  Trust me.  You'll never notice.

Have you tried all these, and are still inundated with info? Let me know, so that I can help you!

If you find some new things in this list and apply them, tell me how they worked for you.  Remember, you're creating a new reality! Your inbox and your response to the messages within it is a good place to start.

Wishing you more clarity every day! --Kim
