Now Available: Firefox 3 RC1 Here's a quick update on what's happening in the world of Firefox 3 these days! As you may recall, last week, I told you the Mozilla company was planning to release the Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 in late May 2008. Well, they kept their promise, because it is now available for download! It made its debut on May 16, 2008 and while anyone is welcome to download it, you should keep in mind that it is for testing purposes only. At this stage, Mozilla is just basically looking for feedback and they will release the final version when they feel it's up to par for its users. Firefox 3 comes along with several new features that will improve its performance, memory usage and speed. Of course, all of that will be tweaked as the process goes along and you shouldn't expect the RC1 to perform at 100 percent. For example, you might run into some trouble when working with your add ons. That's to be expected. But you can help by downloading the Firefox 3 RC1 and giving your feedback. It is available in more than 45 languages and you can download it right here. Simply choose your language, your operating system and then click on the Download link. Happy testing! ~ Erin It's Friday, it's Friday! Can you feel the excitement? Make sure you keep reading to learn a few keyboard shortcuts that are sure to make your Internet Explorer 7 experience so much easier, find out what you can do when things are way too small in various MS Office programs and learn how you can easily recover a lost e-mail download or attachment. WOW! We've had some great sellers this year, but this is, by far, our fastest selling software so far! Hundreds and hundreds ordered Wednesday! We sold these so fast that we ran out of our inital supply but we were able to get more! If you missed out, this is one you've really got to check out - once you see what it does, you'll agree it's crazy not to grab one! Oh YEAH!! We GOT MORE!! All The FREE Music You Could Ever Want! Amazing New Software Makes It EASY! Grab Hundreds Of Songs Per Hour! You May Never Pay For Another MP3! WOW! This is the most exciting software I think we've ever offered! It's called RadioTracker and it's going to be HUGE! You love music right? Well, wouldn't it be great if there was a way to legally get all the songs you ever wanted - for free? With this software - you can! Interested? I thought so! This amazing software lets you record internet radio and turns the tracks into high-quality MP3s for use on your MP3 player, iPod, Computer, CDs, whatever!! You can get thousands of songs - and they won't cost you a cent! You may never buy another MP3! WOW! Here's how it works - you just pick the type of music you like - it has a whopping 77 different genres, so you're bound to find all the types of music you enjoy! From there, just have the software start recording! You can have it record tracks form just one station, do dozens of stations at once, or just pick your favorites! TONS of options! I had mine set to record from 20 stations simultaneously and WOW! I had a whoppin' 38 songs in 15 minutes! Is that amazing or what? I had to sort though and decide which ones to keep, but its filtering options made that a simple task! What an amazing program! PLUS this thing is loaded down with radio stations too! We're talking 15,000+ internet radio stations at your fingertips! You'll never run out of songs to record, that's for sure! I think I'm going to find my favorite 10 or 20 stations and record from those. Heck, you can even use this just to listen to internet radio if you like! (I'm Listening to it as I type this!) Oh, and just wait till you see the "Wish List" feature - this is going to blow-you-away! You can tell the software to watch for certain songs or artists! When it finds and records what you're looking for, you'll see a bright green check mark next to your fulfilled "wish" on the list! Awesome! So, what do you do with all these songs after you sort 'em out? Oh, you're gonna love this! You can just right-click the song and send it to your MP3 player or iPod! Really! I tried it out and it worked flawlessly! What if you're not using an MP3 player or iPod? Well, you can still listen to your songs with Radio Tracker's built in player or burn a CD! Easy to use, works and sounds fantastic! You can even turn your songs (or parts of them) into ring tones for your cellphone! What about the quality? I've been pleasantly surprised - and really happy with it! The songs sound great and most of the time you even get the album cover and lyrics! PLUS in many cases, the radio stations are broadcasting in 128 bit format - the same quality you normally get when you buy MP3s! Oh, and if you want to cut part of the file off (like if a DJ started talking at the very end), this has the tools to do it! WOW!!! Whew, that's the highlight show, but there is a lot more to this software than I have room for today. We haven't even talked about it's podcast recording abilities, amazing search, powerful filtering, etc. It's LOADED! Everything I would ever want, that's for sure! You gotta try it! Your cost? You're not going to believe this - just $16.97 and US shipping is FREE ($40 retail!)! Is that amazing or what? Most of the time, MP3 music is about a buck a song, so figure this will pay for itself after it finds you just 17 songs! I had that many "keepers" in less than a half hour! Give it a try, you'll be glad you did! http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?productid=4348 PS - This is going to be huge, no doubt about it. PLEASE get to the site early, we have a limited quantity now, and I'm honestly not sure how many more we're going to be able to get. What we have may be all we can get. Incredible Germ Zapper! Amazing UV LIght Kill Bacteria And Viruses! "A microbiologist at the University of Arizona counted bacteria on workplace surfaces for a study sponsored by The Clorox Co., makers of Clorox bleach. Office toilet seats had 49 germs per square inch, he found. But desktops had almost 21,000 germs per square inch. Desks, phones, computer keyboards and mice are key germ transfer points because people touch them so often..." ~ CNN.com YUCK! Is That Disgusting or What?? Kill Those Nasty Germs In Seconds!!! Ultraviolet Technology Makes It Quick, Easy and Chemical Free! WOW! We had a tremendous response to our UV Light this week! Thank You to everyone who ordered! If you missed out, this is one product I think everyone who wants a safe, germ-free environment should have! At work, home, or anywhere - this will help keep the germs down! Now I wouldn't classify myself as a "germophobe", but when I read studies like the one above, I think I could easily become one! When you stop and think about all the surfaces you touch or come into contact with on a daily basis that dozens (or hundreds) of other people touch, you know there are TONS of icky, nasty germs crawling around out there! Especially this time of year, the cold and flu season (yuck!). "UV-C light is germicidal - i.e., it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, UV-C light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. The formation of such bonds prevent the DNA from being unzipped for replication, and the organism is unable to reproduce. In fact, when the organism tries to replicate, it dies." Here's the great thing, this Disinfecting UV Scanner is extremely portable! It only measures about 5" folded and when it's fully opened it's about 9" in length. It weighs less than a 1/2 lb. and even comes with a handy carrying pouch as well! You can take this with you anywhere and everywhere (discreetly if you choose) and keep bacteria and other harmful viruses away! Great for public bathrooms! This isn't just for you desktop and keyboard either! It's safe and effective to use on your dishes, toothbrush, cell phone, kids toys, car interior, door handles, etc. You get the idea ;-) Everyone here has been scanning their office from top to bottom since we got this in - it's still working on the same set of batteries too! You get about 4,000 scans with this on just one set - pretty amazing, huh? When I was checking this item out, I saw that most similar products like this go for no less than $70.00 - OUCH! - some are closer to $100.00 - yikes! Well get this, your cost is just $16.97 and that includes FREE shipping in the US! Just think about all the money you spend on those little bottles of hand sanitizer every month - this will pay for itself in no time at all! http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?productid=4043 PS - Don't spend $70.00 elsewhere ~ do yourself, your coworkers and your family a favor and pick up one for your home and/or office today! You'll thank me later ;-) Q: A: Well, either way you look at it, if you're on a hunt for some IE 7 keyboard shortcuts, you've come to the right place. I've been keeping a few up my sleeve just for this special occasion! So, shall we take a look at them? I thought you might enjoy that. Here we go! Now, most of these shortcuts deal with using tabbed browsing. That's one of the main features that came along with Internet Explorer 7. If you're not too familiar with tabbed browsing, these shortcuts may not be very useful to you, but I would suggest hanging on to this tip anyway. Once you do get the hang of tabbed browsing, you can refer back to it and you'll be all set! 1.) Ctrl + T - Opens a new tab in the foreground. 2.) Ctrl + Click - Opens links in a new tab in the background. 3.) Ctrl + Shift + Click - Opens links in a new tab in the foreground. 4.) Alt + Enter - Opens a new tab from the address bar. 5.) Alt + Enter - It also opens a new tab from the search box. 6.) Ctrl + Q - Opens up quick tabs, which are thumbnail views. 7.) Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + Shift + Tab - Allows you to switch between tabs. 8.) Ctrl + N - Switches to a specific tab number. In this case, N can equal anything between the numbers one and eight. 9.) Ctrl + 9 - Switches to the last tab. 10.) Ctrl + W - Closes the current tab. 11.) Ctrl + Alt + F4 - Closes other open tabs. 12.) Alt + F4 - Closes all the tabs. Now, here are a few mouse shortcuts for you as well. 1.) Click the middle mouse button (if your mouse has one) on a link and it will open that link in a background tab for you. 2.) Double click any empty space right next to the last tab you have open and it will open a brand new tab. 3.) If you click on the middle mouse button on one of your tabs, it will close the tab for you. How does all that sound? Pretty cool, huh?! Now, you might want to start memorizing these shortcuts if you think you'll use them a lot. Or, just print them out so that you'll have them right by your computer when you're ready to use them. Either way, these simple shortcuts can make your IE 7 experience so much easier! ~ Erin Have a question for the newsletter? Submit it at the link below: Way Too Small Something unusual happened to me the other day and I just have to tell you about it! While researching for an MS Office tip, I did a search through the Help file and was quite surprised when the information window opened. This is what I got: The titles are legible, but the rest of it is a big struggle. Can you read the text? No? Well, neither could I! The window was the normal size, but the information was way too small. Thinking this could easily happen to someone else, I decided this was a situation we should discuss so that you all know the solution as well. After I recovered from my initial bewilderment, I dug through my mental archives for a way to increase the text size and I came up with a quick fix! First, click into the informational side of the Help window. Now, while holding down the Ctrl key, spin the scroll wheel on your mouse. If nothing happens, try scrolling in the opposite direction. You should find that the text size increases to a normal size and you're able to see the information you need without a magnifying glass! While testing this in Office 2007, I couldn't get this trick to work. However, I did find an answer that's still easy. In the top row of buttons, you'll find one for the font size that offers a variety of options: Simply pick one and you'll get a text size that suits you. P.S. - Here's a bonus! This trick also works for text viewing in Word, Excel (it actually increases or decreases the number of cells on the screen), PowerPoint and message content in Outlook. Now, that's what I call a multi-purpose MS Office tip! ~ April

Recovering E-mail Downloads and Attachments Do you receive a lot of attachments and downloads via e-mail? If so, do you ever happen to lose your Internet connection before the download or attachment is finished loading? That can actually happen quite frequently, especially for those of you who use dial-up. Then when you log back in, you basically have to start all over again, because without a complete download, there's nothing you can do. Or is there? Fortunately, there's a place on your computer where your e-mail program holds all of your e-mail downloads, attachments and even attempted downloads. Therefore, if you’ve misplaced or accidentally deleted one, you can access it. Hallelujah! Here's how you can do it in AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo! AOL Log in to your AOL account and go to File, Download Manager. All of your downloads (attempted ones too) will be right there. Inside the Download Manager window, click on the download you would like to recover and on the right hand side, you will see the file name, location and size. You will also see the file's progress status (whether it's finished or not), the date it was attempted and where it came from. To resume a download, just click on the File Name link or the Open button at the bottom of the window. Or, if you want to find the exact location of a certain file, simply click on the Location link or the Find button. Hotmail To find a lost download in Hotmail, simply type the word "Attachments" into the search box and then click on the Mail button. Yahoo! In Yahoo!, click on the My Attachments link on the left hand side. A window will then open with a list of all your sent and received attachments and downloads. You can then search through them by sender, document extension type, date, etc. to find the one you want. So, the next time you misplace or accidentally delete an e-mail with an attachment or download, you will know exactly where you can go to find it. So, I decided a couple of summers ago to paint my kitchen a color that is very white green. But since then, I’ve decided to paint it again and this time, I chose a sunny yellow instead. Of course, I had no idea how much paint I would need, so when I found this fabulous interior paint calculator, I was all set! All you need to use it are the dimensions of your room. The measurements you need are: Room Length The other thing you need to know is how many square feet does a gallon of the paint you want to use cover? The default is set to 300, but pick whatever will work the best for you. After doing some thinking, I decided my range was between 250 and 400 square feet, so I just kept the default in place. Once you’ve filled in all of the fields, click Calculate and it will show you the amount you need under Totals. This is a great tool to calculate how much paint you’ll need to do some interior painting. It helped me budget the cost of my paint as well. I hope you all can get some good use out of this Web site! ~ Amanda Do you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
