E-books So, what is an e-book? I'm sure some of you have probably wondered that and it makes sense, because e-books are becoming very popular as the days go by. An e-book, which is also known as an electronic book, is just basically the digital equivalent of a regular printed book. Often times, e-books are also read with an e-book reader, which is just a device that reads books in a digital format. Like I said before, e-books are emerging quickly into day to day life and they are starting to change the ways of technology. There are other formats of e-books as well, including online magazines and audio books. Some of the e-books that are created are published along with a printed version, but they may not be put on sale until a later date. They are perfect for children when taking long trips in the car as well! One of the most popular e-book retailers is the digital bookstore of eBooks.com. There you can download excerpts of certain e-books or just buy them outright. They have e-books listed from all different sorts of categories, including business, computers, history, religion and so on. They also have an array of fiction and non-fiction e-books to choose from. E-books are up and coming, so maybe it's time you check them out! ~ Erin Don't stop now! Don't take a chance on a slippery shower - this is one everyone should have! Take a look: http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?productid=4373 Check Out Some Other Really Cool Stuff We Have In Our Store: Q: A: First of all, you'll want to turn your computer off and unplug your keyboard. 1.) Turn your keyboard over and try to shake out any particles you can. 2.) It's suggested to get a can of compressed air and spray it over the keys to remove any extra debris that may be lying in between the cracks. Compressed air is available at any computer or photo store. 3.) Take a slightly damp cloth and run it over the keys to remove any fingerprints and any other dirt that might be settling in on your keys. 4.) Take your vacuum's dusting brush attachment and set it on a low mode. Just run it over the keyboard to make sure all remaining particles of dust, dirt, food, etc. are removed. Now, if you need to do a more serious cleaning because you have sticky keys or your keyboard is just so filthy, you can't stand it, take caution and follow the rest of the steps below. Make sure you keep track of where the keys are placed on your keyboard so that you're able to put them back on in the right order. You may want to draw yourself a picture of some sort to keep track of them. Now, using a small screwdriver, carefully remove all of the smaller keys. You're not going to want to take off the larger keys like the space bar, Shift, Enter or Tab, because those are extremely difficult to get back on. Go back to using your compressed air to get all of the left over dirt that may be refusing to come out. If you have any stains underneath the keys, use the damp cloth like before to get rid of those. Once you have it all clean like you want it, put the keys back in their place. Each of them should snap right back on, but be careful. Also, test each key as you go, just to make sure they're working. When you're all finished, plug your keyboard back in and try out all of the keys to make sure everything is back to normal and working properly. Please remember that the second set of steps should only be used if your keyboard is extremely dirty or clogged. You should take special precaution when using those methods. Welcome to a clean keyboard! ~ Erin Have a question for the newsletter? Submit it at the link below: Custom Shortcut Menus What's a shortcut menu, you ask? Not quite sure if you use them or not? Well, I bet you use them all the time. When you're working, do you ever find yourself doing a quick little right click? What happens when you do that? Yep, that's right. A small menu opens that lists a few of the more useful options available. It's also known as your shortcut menu. So, now that you know you're using it, it's time to take a look at how to customize it. (I was only able to make these modifications in MS Word and PowerPoint. In addition, while I know Office 2007 has the right click shortcut menus, I wasn't able to locate a way to customize them). For everyone who can use this tip, let's get down to business.
With the power to customize all your menus, you can really take control and handle all of your needs! ~ April Join The Hundreds and Hundreds - Oh! Wait! Thousand Customers- Who Have Ordered!!!!

It did me - and I've seen a LOT of software! This thing is nothing short of amazing! Read on - and get ready to be really - and I mean REALLY - impressed! To test, I installed it on my personal machine and it did a quick scan, and it came up with a warning about a few security problems and gave me some really helpful speed improvement suggestions. With just a couple mouse clicks, I'm now enjoying a MUCH faster -and more secure - computer! And I thought I was as tweaked out as I could be! Not even close - this was incredible - and automatic! Firefox 3: A Few More Features As you probably remember from Friday's newsletter, I told you about some of the new features found in the Firefox 3 Web browser. Well, come to find out, I thought of even more I just had to tell you about, so that's what I'm going to take care of today. Let's check them out! Improved Performance Smart Location Bar Like a personal assistant who telepathically knows when you’re going to need just the right phone number, etc., Firefox 3’s Smart Location Bar helps you get to your frequently visited or recently discovered Web sites in a super quick fashion. All you have to do is type the starting letters of the Web site you want to visit and Firefox will take care of getting you there. The Smart Location Bar also learns through repetition, so, for example, the next time you start searching with “li,” it knows you’re looking for Lifehacker and not Linux, as shown in the picture below: Places Organizer Previous versions of Firefox’s bookmark organizer have been pretty basic with the drag and drop method. But with Firefox 3’s new Places Organizer, you'll be able to find your URLs quickly, as well as, keep them better organized with the tagging system. Better still, you can save those smart searches for the next time you need them. There you have it. Three more reasons why you should love Firefox 3! ~ Ramachandran Kumaraswami If you enjoy our tips, tell your friends. That's what keeps this newsletter growing. Prefetch Clutter - Video Tip Are you having trouble with your programs opening slowly when you boot up your computer with Windows XP? You may have to sit there waiting on a certain program for over a minute and quite frankly, that is just too long! Part of the reason why that may be happening is because of the prefetch system in XP. Want to learn more about the prefetch system and how you can fix it so that your programs open faster? If so, just click on the link below to get started! http://imgsrv.worldstart.com/videotips/index.htm Or, if you would just like to read today's tip, you can do that as well, here: For stories, jokes, quotes and cartoons every day, sign up for our Just for Grins newsletter. I've been hunting for useful Web sites that will help me be successful in college this fall. And lucky for all of you, one of those is this grammar Web site! Not only does it give you the bare bones of grammar you need to be successful, but it also includes self-tests you can take to test your grasp of the concepts, as well as, an MLA Quick Guide. You’ll find navigation on the menu to the right of the Big Dog logo. It's broken down into these categories: Subjects, Verbs, Prepositions, Fragments, Comma-Splices Fused Sentences, Joiners, Agreement (both Subject Verb and Pronoun Antecedent), Dangling Modifiers, Misplaced Modifiers, Parallel Structure, Reference, Pronouns, Consistency and Active/Passive Constructions. That’s quite a bit to cover, so it's great it's broken down so much. What I love the most is this site breaks grammar down into layman’s terms so that it's easily understood. It leads you through the thought process of how it works and it leaves you with a self-test to prove you have the hang of it! The self-tests are an important part of this Web site, because they let you know if you really grasped the content you studied. How do they work? Well, you start by following the instructions for each test, you type your answers in the blank text field and then click on the Submit button. The site grades your test to let you know if you’re right or wrong. If you're right, it pops up with Correct. If you’re wrong, it pops up with Incorrect, but it tells you what you may have done wrong. (For example, some questions have more than one answer that must be submitted in a certain way, such as men, women rather than men women). MLA Quick Guide – This is a must have for any college student. When you write papers for school, they usually have to be in the MLA format. This section guides you through how to do that and what is expected of you when you use the format. I have bookmarked this site, sent it to all of my friends in school and I'm looking forward to using it throughout the school year. I hope you can get some good use out of it as well! ~ Amanda Do you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
