Get on the Right Level Have you been having some trouble with your hard drive lately? Maybe you've been having so many problems that you're almost ready to just give up on it and go buy a new one. Well, before you do that, you might find this little tip a tad bit interesting. Keep reading for the full scoop! Some hard drives are very sensitive to surfaces that are not level. Wow, who knew?! Most have trouble functioning properly when they are placed on an uneven surface or at a slant. To move your hard drive and see if this could be the problem, shut down your computer and move your system to a flatter area. You can even use a level to make sure the surface is completely flat. When you've got everything set back up, go ahead and restart your computer normally to see if the drive works any better than it did before. Often times, this will help bring a doomed hard drive back to life. Keep in mind though that this trick will not work with every single hard drive. Yours might have problems beyond repair and you, of course, will have to look into those further. But, you can always give this a shot, just to see what happens! ~ Erin You can't stop now! There's so much more to read about. Keep going to learn about some basic instructions for uploading photos, find out what the key is to the perfect print preview in MS Word and learn all about Remember the Milk + Gmail. Also, be sure to check out this week's awesome download thanks to Gary and as always, don't miss out on Amanda's Cool Site of the Day. Enjoy!
WOW! System Mechanic is continuing to just fly outta here! The response has been absolutely AMAZING! Thank YOU to the hundreds and hundreds who've already ordered! I know you're gonna love it! If you did miss out earlier this week, don't worry, you've got another shot at this amazing program! We've been so impressed by the excellent speed gains - not to mention system tweaks and hard drive space this has saved - that we're going to try to keep it available as long as possible! Give this one a try - you'll be glad you did! It's Time To Get That "New Computer" Feeling Back! "If You Only Buy One Program This Year - Grab This One!!" Make Windows Run Up To 300% FASTER!!
A MUST-HAVE For EVERY Windows User!! Customize, Tweak, Secure, Optimize, And Make 'Er FLY!! Oh WOW!! We just got System Mechanic 7 in and it's by far, the very best program I think I've ever seen for getting the most out of Windows! This thing is just gonna blow you away! It did me - and I've seen a LOT of software! This thing is nothing short of amazing! Read on - and get ready to be really - and I mean REALLY - impressed! First, I'm seriously blown away at how easy this software makes it to really get your computer crankin'! I mean, I don't think there's anything on your computer this can't tweak and optimize! To test, I installed it on my personal machine and it did a quick scan, and it came up with a warning about a few security problems and gave me some really helpful speed improvement suggestions. With just a couple mouse clicks, I'm now enjoying a MUCH faster -and more secure - computer! And I thought I was as tweaked out as I could be! Not even close - this was incredible - and automatic! What can it do for you? Let's talk speed - this can make your computer act like it did when you first brought it home - just flying through programs and impressing the livin' daylights out of ya! Heck, your computer might even be faster than when you first got it home!! This has a whopping 19 different ways to crank up the speed on your machine! In fact, many systems see an absolutely incredible 300% improvement after just some automatic adjusting by this program! WOW!! Want to surf the internet at up to 300% faster? This can help! Windows isn't necessarily optimized for the fastest connection out of the box, but this program can grab your settings and squeeze out the speed - you'll surf the internet like crazy! Who wouldn't want to surf up to 300% faster?!!? Heck, it even has a speed tool to measure how faster you connection speed is! Just fantastic! Want more? - Sure ya do! Another thing this does that I'm in absolute love with is it lets you customize over 100 "secret" Windows settings! Stuff that you always wish Windows would let you adjust but there isn't really any direct way to do it. This makes it point-and-click easy!! You can: Optimize the way Windows' Start Menu behaves, speed up networking performance, log in automatically, edit your computer registration data, change multimedia behavior, improve pagefile security, customize explorer's context menus, edit advanced administration options, and much more!! Oh, and just wait till you point your mouse at the Automatic System Maintenance section! I just love this! This part of the program will watch in the background and wait till the system is idle. As soon as you're not using the computer, it will work in the background tuning your computer for absolute peak performance! Here's the really cool part - just touch your mouse, and it stops what it's doing and gives the system back to you! Really! If you've ever been slowed down by a stubborn anti-virus that insisted on scanning while you were working, you know just how cool this is! Oh, and it even lets you pick and choose what optimizations to run! Another automatic feature I think is just brilliant is the "One-Click" option! It's just what it sounds like - just click the button and System Mechanic runs all of its system enhancement programs and cranks your system up to the next level! Just a button push away! It makes it easy for EVERYONE to have a smokin' system! Of course, no utility suite would be complete without some killer security tools - and this has the best! This program will quickly scan your system and help you find all the holes - then just plug them with a mouse click! I was really surprised when it found not one, not two, but THREE major holes on my personal PC! I clicked the mouse and the world was safe again! Oh, and that's not all! This also includes both a world-class Anti-Virus (one of the easiest, most comprehensive AVs I've ever used) and a really top-notch Firewall! Either one retails for more than we're selling the entire suite for! WOW! PLUS - it destroys spyware, adware, malware and more. OK, put it this way - if it was made to attack your system, this is going to seek it out and destroy it like a battalion of ticked off Marines! OK, all that's great, but what if your PC is really messed up - like it won't boot? This software can handle that too! Just pop in a recovery CD and System Mechanic will examine your system and get your computer running right again! If you've ever had that sick "why isn't my computer booting" feeling, you can appreciate how great this will be next time it happens! One more thing and I'll try to stop! System Mechanic is just fanatical about grabbing up wasted space on your hard drive! This just blew me away when it found a whopping 1.5 GIG of wasted hard drive space! Geeze - I've had whole hard drives that were smaller than that! This made grabbing that space back a mouse click away! I tell ya - you just can't go wrong here! OK - can ya tell I'm impressed? There's actually a LOT more this can do, but I don't want to write a book on it (OK, maybe I've already come close)! I'm currently running this software and couldn't be happier with it. My system is definitely faster than before it was installed and I just love the performance increase! If you only buy one software program this year - GRAB THIS! Check out these customer testimonials:
Your price? Well, this is the current version and sells for $69.99 at my local Best Buy. Your price? Get this - just $18.97 and US shipping is FREE! AND - this is a 3 license pack too! WOW!!! Check it out: http://store.worldstart.com/product.php?productid=4052 PS - Seriously, after just using this for a short time, I wouldn't be without it. If WorldStart wasn't carrying it, I'd happily pay the $70 for it somewhere else - it really is that good! PLEASE - take a look at this one, I've NEVER seen a better, more complete utility program! Blows everything else right out of the water!!
Q: A: You also need to have some sort of file manager to be able to upload pictures or anything else you want to transfer. There are different programs available to do this type of work. Some examples are an FTP server, Pixagogo and Picasa. There are obviously more out there, but those are a few of the more popular and well known ones. Now, if you are uploading a photo from a Web site (such as MySpace), there is already a file manager there and they pretty much do all the work for you. I'll first explain how to upload a picture from one of those types of Web sites. I'm going to use MySpace as my example, but there are several other sites that allow you to upload items and they all do it just about the same way. All you have to do is get to the area where you can place your pictures and click on the Browse button. Then just navigate to where your photo is saved. (Chances are, you have it in your My Pictures folder or somewhere similar). Click on the picture and then click Open. That will insert the picture onto the Web site. Next, all you have to do is click on the Upload button and the process will begin. Once the picture is done uploading, it will tell you that it was finished successfully or not and you can then go and view it on the Web site. Most sites have a separate area for photos and you can go in there to find your new pictures. You can then let all your friends know that you have posted new pictures and they can check them out too. It's just a fun way to share photos with everyone you know! Now, if you're wanting to upload a file to your own Web site, you may want to use a type of program like an FTP server. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and it means just that. As long as you have the file saved on your computer, you can transfer it to your Web site's host server so that it is available to be viewed on the Internet. You can specify a specific area where you want your photos to be stored and once you hit the transfer arrow, everything will be done. It only takes seconds to complete as well. This process is a little more difficult to explain in a short article like this, but it is all spelled out nicely in this article. You can check that out for more help! That's pretty cool, huh?! Uploading is an up and coming process and it doesn't hurt to get yourself familiar with it as soon as possible. Now, go on and upload away! ~ Erin Have a question for the newsletter? The Key to a Print Preview Many of you probably find the Print Preview option in MS Word to be a very useful feature, right? I mean, it's an excellent way to double check your layout before you waste paper and ink/toner printing something out that really isn't ready to go. I don't know about you, but I usually get to the Print Preview window either through the File menu or by using the button on the Standard Toolbar. (For Word 2007 users, the Print Preview is now located via the Office button, Print choice or it's a button you can add to the Quick Access Toolbar by using the arrow located to the right of the toolbar). Now, I have stumbled across a keyboard shortcut that you readers who prefer to go mouseless will surely want to know about! Next time, try Ctrl + F2. You should be taken straight to the Print Preview window. No fuss, no muss! Want to return to your regular editing window in Word? Try Ctrl + F2 again. Bam. You're right back where you started! ~ April

Remember the Milk + Gmail Hello again! As you may recall, yesterday, we discussed using Remember the Milk to organize your tasks. Well, Remember the Milk also has a Firefox extension for Gmail, which makes organizing your schedule even easier. So, for all of you Gmail users out there, let's get ready, get set and go! 1.) First, click here and follow the instructions to install Remember the Milk for Gmail. 2.) Once Firefox has restarted, head on over to your Gmail account and you’ll immediately see a new sidebar. 3.) Click the Login link and type in your username and password. Now, you will notice that all of your tasks have been added to your Gmail. Cool, huh?!
It will then automatically be added to today’s date, but if you click on the task, another box will appear. 5.) Here you can set details for the task, just like we did yesterday. 6.) If you look right under the task entry box, you’ll see the Task View List. Here you can opt to view your tasks that are only in a certain list or tag.
8.) Once you do that, click the More Actions drop down list and select Create Task.
If you head over to the Settings area and select Tasks, you can also add some interesting features. For example, you can make it so that starred messages and messages that have been labeled are automatically added as a task. I think that’s a great feature, because I usually use stars as a way to flag e-mails I need to follow up with. Finally, the last option deals with auto-suggesting contact names when entering in tasks. Try this out! 1.) Go back to your Gmail homepage. 2.) In the task entry box, type in "Call," followed by one of your contact’s names. 3.) You will notice that a drop down box appears with your contact‘s name inside. That’s pretty cool, huh?! Oh, and by the way, if you’d ever like to hide the Remember the Milk sidebar, just click the little gray arrow in the middle. Once again, I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about Remember the Milk. It’s a great tool that makes the ever popular Gmail even better as well. Check it out today! ~ Neil Patel If you enjoy our tips, tell your friends. That's what keeps this newsletter growing.
Free CD Ripper Lately, it seems like there has been an influx of MP3 player questions here at WorldStart. A lot of you have gotten MP3 players for Christmas and almost all of you have one specific question: “How do I convert my CDs to an MP3 format?” Well, that is a very good question and today, I have a download for you that will do just that! It's called Free CD Ripper. Let's check it out! With Free CD Ripper, all you have to do is insert a CD into your computer, click a few buttons and your music will then be in an MP3 format. You can then put all of your favorite songs onto your shiny new MP3 player! Here's what the program looks like: First, you'll want to pick the place where you want the program to store your music files. To do that, click on Options at the top and then click on the Save and Filename tab. >From there, just choose a folder to save the converted music in. (This is a one time step. It is only needed after the program is first installed). Next, insert one of your CDs into your computer. After you insert the CD, choose your CD ROM drive from the device menu at the top. Next, on the right hand Output Format box, choose MP3. After that, go ahead and click on the “i” at the bottom of the Free CD Ripper window. That will fill in the track names and the artist's name of the CD automatically. Next, just click Extract. And you're done. Wasn't that so easy?! You can then go ahead and do the same thing for all of your CDs (or at least for the songs you want to put on your MP3 player). Then just upload them to your media player and you'll be all set. Yes! You can download Free CD Ripper for yourself right here. Enjoy! ~ Gary For stories, jokes, quotes and cartoons every day, sign up for our Just for Grins newsletter. Have you ever been sick with something that everyone says is going around? Well, what if you could see who was sick in your area and what was wrong with them? Now you can! It's a weird concept, I know, but I think it will really take off due to everyone's curiosity! When you first go to the Web site, you will be greeted with a pop up that explains how to use the site in four steps. They are Post, Search, Discuss and Analytics. After you check that out, you can choose to close it with the red button in the top right corner or with the blue button in the bottom right corner that will not only close it, but make sure it doesn’t show up again. After you’ve gotten out of the instructions, you will find that the site is basically a Google map with a tabbed panel to the left. On the first tab, you’ll find the place where you can post if you are sick. Just type in your zip code, fill in the checkboxes with your symptoms, fill in your age, gender and give any more details if you'd like. Next, click the Post button. I filled one out, because I’ve got a cough, a runny nose and body aches. The map updated my information and I noticed there weren’t too many people near me that are sick. Are you healthy? Well, you can still see who’s sick! Just click on the Search tab. Here you can search by zip code, symptoms and more. On the right side, under the graph, you’ll see a listing of symptoms you can filter by. That allows you to search by more symptoms than what is offered within the checkboxes. So, all in all, this site is another interesting use of the Google map that allows you to keep track of the sickness trends in your area. It's just another way to keep yourself healthy. Check it out! http://www.whoissick.org/sickness/ ~ Amanda Do you have a cool, non-commercial site that you want to share?
